We need your support: Kickstarting without Kickstarter
There's a lot of layers when it comes to being an entrepreneur and it's not always easy to do as one person, let alone bootstrapping the funds to make it happen. Our end goal is to raise a minimum of $70,000 to help make the Repaint Tray a reality. However, if you prefer to help in other ways, you can now pre-order the Repaint Tray!
For more details on our crowdfunding efforts, scroll down to view our commonly asked questions. I'm asking for your support to help bring the Repaint Tray to a store near you and reduce plastic waste and landfill build up!
01
Why not kickstarter?
For many reasons, we decided to not go the kickstarter route. Kickstarter involves a lot of ins and outs and upfront costs for campaigning, advertising, marketing, etc. which we just don't have the time and resources for at the moment. Kickstarter also takes a cut of the funds raised and is an all or nothing type fundraiser. Meaning, if the goal isn't met, then the campaigner doesn't see any funds and could've spent thousands in the process just setting up the campaign.
03
I can't support financially, but I still want to help. How can I do that?
Awesome! We will take all the help we can get. If you are local and able to help out with childcare, contact me directly and we can chat! That is the biggest need at the moment aside from raising funds.
02
How much do you need to raise to get your product launched?
We need a minimum of $50,000 to help kickstart manufacturing.
04
Where is my money going exactly?
$10-100: You're helping support the small purchases needed like website maintenance, thank you notes, flyers and promotional material.
$250-500: You're helping support the purchase of packaging and shipping materials

How much do you need to raise to get the Repaint Tray launched?
At a minimum, we need $70,000. This helps purchase a fair number of things, however the largest cost alone is the steel molding to create the tray liner and lid itself. The steel molding cost is $40,000.
04
Where exactly is my money going?
$10-250: These funds help with the small purchases like packaging and shipping supplies, promotional materials, thank you notes and website maintenance.
$500-1,000: These funds help toward product sampling and tooling. This will help us nail out all the details to make sure everything is just right before officially manufacturing.
$5,000+: These funds will generously help toward the steel mold needed to hit full production. In addition, part of your donation will go toward Global Paint for Charity, a non-profit that reduces paint waste and helps transform underserved communities worldwide.
05
When will I receive items after placing my donation?
Receiving items after placing a donation is TBD. A lot depends on the date of manufacture and shipping. We are currently working with a professional company and plan to receive product samples by the end of 2022 and potentially be in full production early 2023.
07
Can I write off donations in my taxes?
Unfortunately no. Silicone Studios is a for-profit business, meaning any support given cannot be classified as any donation to be deducted from your taxes as charitable giving.
06
What if there isn't a pizza place near me?
If you're in an extremely remote, rural area that doesn't have a place to get pizza for pick up or delivery, please let me know and we will get the matter taken care of!

I live in the State of Washington or California.
As weird as this sounds, Washington and California have laws against giving donations that aren't set up through campaign websites. If you are from these states, per my legal counsel, you are unable to give financially through my website.
